When our cat Liza's breathing turned raspy we worried she had bronchitis. After two weeks on antibiotics and no improvement, we feared the worst. Dr. Colon discovered a mass in Liza's throat - a very large one. The outlook did not look good and due to its location it was inoperable. But Dr. Colon recommended a course of steroid treatment to try to shrink it. We were hopeful that it would get small enough to operate and, hopefully, it wouldn't be cancerous. After five weeks on the steroids, Dr. Colon's tracheal examination found no mass! It completely disappeared, leaving only a small hole in the palate that Liza can live with. Through it all, Dr. Colon was helpful and sympathetic. She answered all of our questions, explained all the options, and was so gentle with our baby Liza. She helped give us the best Christmas gift we could have received this year - our little girl is happy, healthy and back to her old self. THANK YOU, Dr. Colon, Dr. K, and everyone at Riverside Animal Hospital. Posted By: Lisa |
