I have to tell my dog loving peers about my miracle tonight... Around 9:30pm I noticed my dog has little red lumps all over his chest, thirety minutes later his face was affected and about an hour later his hind legs turned pink and bumpy. I slowly began freaking out. I posted my fears on CRAIGSLIST.COM and SO many people offered advice about Benydryl, so I went out and bought some. By the time I cut it in half and gave it to my dogs the bumps were traveling up his back. Milo appeared just fine, he wasn't scratching and he wasn't biting, just kinda laying there-- nothing unusual. I told myself to wait until the morning to see a vet. But by 12:30am I was in a panic thinking mydogs throat was going to close and he would slowly die in the middle of the night. I googled "all night vet clinics west side manahattan" and took off outside with Milo and a vague plan to head tot he east side animal clinic. As I am walking I saw a awoman with a dog and rushed over to her asking if she knew where an all night animal hopsital was on the west side. She calmly looked over my dog and asked what the problem was. I quickly responded byshowing Milo's reash on his face and onto his stomach and explained that I was desperate and cannot wait unitil the morning. This woman was a VET!!! She took me to her (closed) clinic and took care of Milo, giving him a shot, bathing him with oatmeal shampoo and she gaveme pills for his reaction. She spent over and hour caring for Milo on a SUNDAY night after MIDNIGHT. Only in Manhattan can you rush out fo the house praying for a vet and find one a block away. I owe Dr. Greene and Riverside Veterinary Group more than they can ever know. Kristine M. (reprinted from CRAIGSLIST) Posted By: Kristine Molnar |
