Riverside Animal HospitalRiverside Animal Hospital is located in the heart of New York City's Upper West Side. Opened by Dr. Phillip Raclyn in 1986, and directed since 1990 by his partner Dr. Steven Kasanofsky, Riverside has grown to be one of New York City's leading animal hospitals. "Dr. K" (as Dr. Kasanofsky is affectionately known), Dr. Raclyn and their associates Dr. Christina Colon, Dr. Brett Drayton and Dr. Christina East as well as their skilled and friendly staff create an environment of healing in spite of being in a very busy practice in the center of the world's busiest city. We offer state of the art veterinary care here at our Riverside facility.

Our hospital entrance on West 108th Street ( between Broadway and Amsterdam ) opens into a spacious, well lit and comfortable waiting room. We've been told that we have the biggest waiting room of any veterinary hospital in NYC. And more room makes it more comfortable for you and your pet ! After a brief (hopefuly) wait, the owners and the pets would proceed into one of the exam rooms to see the doctor. Unlike many veterinary hospitals, we encourage the owners to stay with their pets in the exam room, and to keep their hands on their pets whenever possible (within the boundaries of safety). We believe that this helps your pet feel a certain sense of security, and in fact, most pets actually enjoy coming to our hospitals (all those treats we give might have something to do with it also!)

AAHAWe were recognized in 1998 as an AAHA hospital, meeting the strict standards of quality established by the American Animal Hospital Association. Riverside Animal Hospital is one of only seven veterinary care practices in Manhattan that have achieved AAHA certification.

If your pet needs to stay at our hospital you can be rest assured that they will have nice, big, comfortable kennels. All our kennels are the finest stainless steel, and we encourage you to bring some old socks or t-shirts with your smell on it along with your pet so that your cat or dog will always have the comfort of knowing that you're there in spirit.

The state of the art surgical suite includes the safest anesthesia used in veterinary medicine today. We also have the best monitoring equipment to ensure the safety of any pets under anesthesia, including pulse oximeter monitoring and computerized Electrocardiographic monitoring.

Riverside Animal HospitalWe also have an in-house lab for many quick tests, next day lab results for more complex blood tests, X-ray equipment, access to ultrasound and a network of specialists, both for traditional Western medicine or for holistic medicine.

FREE PARKING!

Just go into the lot about 100ft east of the hospital and present your parking slip to the receptionist when paying your bill and you'll be credited for up to three hours parking. You pay them in cash, but the amount is credited to  your bill. If they are full, tell them you're for Riverside Animal Hospital and they'll try to make room.
